oxygen for embryo

In humans, the embryo needs oxygen and I think it is supplied from mother via Umbilical cord. Does all other mammals also uses the same method? And then how the chicken inside the egg gets the oxygen? Does the egg white contains the necessary oxygen for the chicken to grow? Please clarify.
